Smyrna Police detectives recently began an investigating an attempted burglary to a local pharmacy, which resulted in them arresting two suspects. On 5/31/20 at approximately 11:30 p.m. 2 suspects were observed on surveillance footage attempting to smash the drive through window and enter the Walgreen’s located at 700 Jimmy Dr. Over the course of the next few days, detectives using various investigative means including recovery of forensic evidence were able to identify the suspects as Demetrius Banks, 23 of Wilmington, DE and Tyshay Davis, 25 of Wilmington, DE. Detectives issued arrest warrants for both suspects. On 6/5/20 members of the Wilmington Police Dept. took Mr. Banks into custody in their jurisdiction. He was transferred into the custody of SPD where he was arraigned in JP #7 on charges of Attempted Burglary 3rd, Criminal Mischief over $5,000 and Conspiracy 2nd. Mr. Banks was released on $3,000 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing. On 6/7/20, members of the New Castle County PD took Ms. Davis into custody in their jurisdiction. She was transferred to SPD custody where she too was arraigned in JP #7 on charges of Attempted Burglary 3rd, Criminal Mischief over $5,000 and Conspiracy 2nd. Ms. Davis was released on $7,000 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing.
