Johnnie Mosley, 63, Smyrna
Smyrna Police patrol officers recently arrested a man for his 5th offense DUI as well as drug possession and traffic charges. On Friday 4/1/22, at 9:50 p.m. an SPD officer on patrol observed a vehicle run a red light, nearly causing a collision on US 13 in the area of Canwit Dr. A traffic stop was conducted, and officers contacted Johnnie Mosley, 63 of Smyrna. A roadside investigation revealed that Mr. Mosley was intoxicated, and he was taken into custody. Once back at SPD headquarters, Mr. Mosley was additionally found to be in possession of crack cocaine. A blood search warrant was obtained for Mr. Mosley and he was charged with:
5th offense DUI
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Failure to stop at a red light
Mr. Mosley was subsequently arraigned via video court in JP #7 where he was released on $5,450 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing.
On June 5th, 2022, in the afternoon, my wife fell on the sidewalk and a Smyrna Officer stopped as he was driving by and offered assistance. We want to thank him for his concern.
